Letter from the Executive Director
In these tough economic times when many non-profits are cutting services, downsizing or closing, I am amazed and very thankful that Child Safe continues to not only thrive, but had the most successful fundraising year in our history! This is truly a testament to the dedicated staff and Board who continue to work tirelessly to as-sure sexually abused kids receive the services they deserve.
This is the year to be thankful for all our blessings and especially the prosperity of Child Safe. In 1997 a small group of individuals were determined to improve services to sexually abused children and their families. This group, organized by Dr. Marge Harlan, Karen Hunt Edwards and Rev. Marvin Albright, had a vision and now some 14 years later that vision is still going strong.
Thank you to Dr. Harlan, Karen and Marvin and to the countless others who have served through the years. Some of whom are still serving on the Board-Kevin Bond, Linda Messenger, David Turpin, Tim Vuagniaux-thank you for persevering! Many, many community partners have been there through the years in our time of need. I would surely miss someone if I tried to list them all; however I do want to acknowledge and thank those who have continued through the years to ‘step up to the plate' with their monetary, in-kind and personal time donations: Barry Smith, Mid-land Printing; Don and Cindy Weaver, Don's Truck Towing; Ron Ditzfeld, Ditzfeld Transfer; Rob Cashman, Warehouse Tire; Joe Beykirch, County Distributing; Jeanne's Beauty Shop; Patrick Hofheins, Wired Installation; Bob and Karen Edwards, Edwards FRP; Starline, Inc.
THANK YOU to our new Board and Committee members who have given freely of their knowledge and creativity and breathed new life into our fundraising efforts. And last but certainly not least, thank you to the Child Safe staff who works tirelessly to assure kids and families have a safe place to tell their stories.
